The beginning (some random moments):
Alyssa divides Banky and Holden from the start; Holden falls for her, Banky can't stand her. The first time they talk he calls her work "chick stuff" and when Holden says he's "anchor" (Holden draws the strips, Banky adds color) she says, "Oh, you trace." When Hooper invites them all out together, at the Holden accepts and Banky declines at the same time. Holden throws Banky a look and convinces Banky to go.
The first scene developing their work/friend relationship is intimate... they're drawing together in silence. Banky says, "That's one of the best streetlights you've ever drawn" and compliments him. Holden asks what they should do that night and Banky talks about getting a pizza together and watching tv. Hooper calls to invite Holden out with Alyssa, Banky assumes he's going: Holden: "We? You can't go, he's hooking me up with Alyssa ... I don't want you messing it up ... Look, how you gonna get home when I hook up?"
Hooper asks Banky at the club where his "better half" is...
Holden calls Alyssa before leaving on a weekend trip with Banky, decides he wants to be with her, and ditches Banky right before they leave: "I'm not goin, you'll have to do this one by yourself, Alyssa's comin down for the weekend I wanna hang out with her, you don't need me for this..." Banky's left just kind of standing there...
During a sequence showing Holden and Alyssa together all the time, Banky says, "I thought you lived in the city. This is like the umpteenth time I've seen you here, isn't that grounds for the little pink mafia to throw you out of their club?" (Alyssa is framed inbetween Holden and Banky behind the couch)
